Exhibitions

This year's Liepāja Visual Art Joint Exhibition, “THE CHOSEN CITY,” is a collaborative effort organized by the Liepāja Museum in partnership with the Liepāja Culture Department. It is a tribute to Liepāja, a city that will celebrate its 400th anniversary in 2025. The well-known and much-loved song “Vējš” (the Wind) inspires the exhibition’s guiding theme, “The Chosen City.”

The Liepāja Visual Art Joint Exhibition-Biennial is an essential and well-anticipated event in Liepāja's cultural and art world. The displayed works reflect Liepāja's vibrant spirit and cultural richness, offering visitors a unique opportunity to explore the city's artistic and creative heartbeat.

The exhibition features 73 artworks or work groups in various techniques and visual art genres created by 59 artists from Liepāja and its surroundings over the last two years:
